Jo’Burger: Dublin’s Best Burgers

We arrived in Dublin around noon and were absolutely starved from the drive. So we figured, why not search for Dublin’s best burgers?

Just off Grafton Street we found a funky burger place called Jo’Burger. It was a beautiful day by Dublin standards, so we opted to sit on the terrace out front and get in some much loved people watching. 

At Jo’Burger they of course serve burgers, but not your typical burgers, these burgers are top notch. 

How to order

So here’s what you do. Step 1: Pick your burger – we both went for classic Irish beef patties on homemade Breton buns but they also have chicken and veggie options. Step 2: Choose your style. Jo’s has a whole lot of options when it comes to toppings, each with a name as inventive as the last. It took a whole lot of drooling while reading before I decided on the Naledi – brie, pear, ginger and classic Jo’Burger relish. Step 3: Add toppings & sides: I didn’t add any extra toppings but of course we had to get some fries to share. 

Step 4: Wait. While we waited for our burgers we had the misfortune of being caught smack dab in the center of an anti-fur protest. As you can imagine hunger + loud angry protesters are not a good combo. Our patience was wearing thinner and thinner and the joys of people watching and sunshine were quickly disappearing. Luckily, it didn’t take long and the beers helped ease the pain. 

So… are these Dublin’s best burgers?

To be honest, I’m not sure if these are Dublin’s best burgers, but when they arrived, I was in true foodie heaven. My burger was without a doubt the tallest burger I have ever eaten. I didn’t even know how to begin. It was stacked sky high with crisp romaine lettuce, tomato and red onion. 

Were they as tasty as they looked? Short answer, yes. Long answer, I ate the entire thing and would’ve gone back for seconds had there been anything left. Totally delicious, fresh, and jam packed with exciting flavors. The oozy brie, sweet pear and perfectly cooked patty were all held between a soft-on-the-inside, crunchy-on-the-outside bun. I would go back just for the bun, it was that damn good. 

If you’re ever in Dublin, definitely stop by Jo’Burger, and don’t be that girl who orders a salad. They may just be Dublin’s best burgers!
