I never thought I’d be back in Glasgow, but when my cousin said she was studying abroad, I knew I’d have to join the party. One of the highlights of our cousin weekend was the Sunday Roast at Chateau-X.  […]

The Pancake Bakery: Quintessentially Amsterdam

June 15, 2017 No Comments
I don't often go around eating pancakes three times a day... but if I were to, I would go to The Pancake Bakery. It's Amsterdam's favorite pancake house.

In Amsterdam you can order pancakes for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Hell, you could have pancakes for all three meals if you wanted. It’s perfectly acceptable behavior and one of the reasons why I love Amsterdam so much. No, I don’t often go around eating pancakes three times a day… but if I were to, I […]

Sir Hummus Amsterdam

June 13, 2017 No Comments
If you're on a Sunday stroll in de Pijp and craving something quick and fresh, stop by Sir Hummus for a surprisingly filling lunchtime treat.

Update March 2023: location Ruysdaelkade 181 Amsterdam  At Sir Hummus, hummus is always the main course, not some wimpy side dish. Two Israeli brothers, Guy and Dori, opened their homestyle hummus hotspot just a few years back. The idea was to take real Middle Eastern flavors and deliver them to the heart of Amsterdam.  Guy […]
